About the afternoon

This will be a relaxed afternoon with the people closest to Autumn and Grayson.

One day away! It’s the final countdown before Autumn and Grayson say “I do.” Let’s gather for a relaxed afternoon to celebrate, eat, and practice our steps.

Schedule

Lunch under the pavilion, followed by rehearsal in the grassy space beside it.

This will be an outdoor gathering, and the times are a general guide. We’ll keep food, drinks, and desserts out so you can help yourself and visit whenever the rehearsal allows.

  1. Arrive and get settled

    Find a seat, help yourself to a drink, and greet one another.

  2. Have lunch

    We plan to serve lunch from the grills around 2:00 PM.

  3. After lunch

    Rehearse the ceremony

    After lunch, we’ll walk through the ceremony timeline and practice our steps so everyone knows where to be and how we’ll move through the ceremony on Friday.

Food and drinks

Burgers, brats, chicken, warm sides, and something sweet.

We’ll serve burgers, brats, and chicken from the grill with plenty of toppings and warm sides, followed by a selection of desserts.

Hearty baked beans, creamy pasta, and grilled vegetables.

Drinks

We’ll have hot spiced cider called wassail, along with tea, coffee, and water. At the drink station, you can prepare coffee or tea hot or cold.

No alcohol will be served.

We’ve reserved the stone pavilion and the nearby open ceremony space. There is plenty of free parking, and the shelter and restrooms are accessible.

What to wear

Casual and relaxed.

The Empire Lake Shelter is an open-air pavilion, and late October in Minnesota can be chilly. Please dress in layers and bring a warm jacket. Weather permitting, we’ll have a fire going to help everyone stay warm and cozy.

If it rains, we’ll gather under the pavilion and arrange everything there so everyone can stay dry.
